More gold than previously thought at Rogozna, Strickland estimates resources at 267 tons – Gradina suitable for underground mine

The Australian company Strickland Metals has published the first inferred mineral resource estimate for the Gradina deposit at its Rogozna gold project in Serbia, confirming around 37.3 tons of gold. With this result, the total estimate for Rogozna has increased by around 16% and now amounts to approximately 267.5 tons of gold equivalent, compared to an earlier estimate of 230 tons of gold equivalent, Australian media report.

According to the estimate, Gradina contains 12 million tons of ore with an average of 3 g/t gold, or an average of around 96.7 kilograms of gold per vertical meter, which indicates extremely favorable parameters for underground exploitation. Strickland emphasizes that the deposit is suitable for “long-hole open stoping,” an efficient underground mining method that allows the collection of ore using gravity.

Rogozna now includes resources at the Shanac, Medenovac, Copper Canyon and Gradina deposits, with the following total metal contents:

• gold (eq.): c. 267.5 t
• copper: 321,000 t
• silver: c. 1,003 t
• lead: 383,000 t
• zinc: 830,000 t

• Medenovac – c. 39.8 t
• Copper Canyon – c. 25.2 t
• Gradina – c. 37.3 t

Strickland says drilling is currently underway at Gradina to explore the so-called “gap zone” between the two main resource blocks, as well as potential extensions of mineralization to the north, south and into depth, along a length of about 800 meters, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Five drilling rigs are actively operating within the project, two of which are exploring the gap zone, while the others are covering wider areas.

The company has announced that it expects an updated resource estimate for the Shanac deposit to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Field work will be paused at the end of December and resumed in February, with an expanded drilling fleet, Small Caps reports.
