The project was sold to Gateway Mining for USD 45 million, and the June 30 deal includes 1.5 billion Gateway convertible preference shares, Australian media report.
Strickland will distribute 80% of the incoming Gateway CP shares to its shareholders, which will convert to ordinary shares post-distribution on August 26, and retain a 15.7% stake in Gateway with about 300 million of the company’s shares.
This transaction, the Sydney Morning Herald writes, allows Strickland to realize significant value from Yandal’s total combined 8.17-million-ton gold resource, grading at 1.52 grams per ton (g/t) gold for about 400,400 ounces. The company can now redirect its full exploration attention to its Rogozna polymetallic project in Serbia.

The large-scale Serbian project, it is reminded, primarily features gold and copper, but also has significant quantities of zinc, silver and lead.
– Rogozna is a Tier-1 asset that continues to attract significant global investor attention, underpinned by a substantial 7.4-million-ton gold equivalent resource with exceptional near-term growth and further discovery potential – stated Strickland Metals managing director Paul L’Herpiniere.
At the beginning of August, Strickland Metals also unveiled a game-changing discovery at its Kotlovi prospect on Rogozna.
It was reported at the time that the company’s first follow-up drill hole of 2025 had delivered a 277.3-metre intercept grading 1.3 grams per ton (g/t) gold equivalent from 337.4 m, cementing Kotlovi as another potential cornerstone of Rogozna’s extraordinary potential.
Kotlovi’s mineralization is defined across 200 m of strike and open in all directions.
Strickland’s aggressive exploration continues, with eight rigs turning rods across the Rogozna project. One rig is chasing Kotlovi extensions, while others target the company’s Jezerska Reka, Obradov Potok and Gradina prospects and its main show at Shanac.
Assays from multiple holes are pending and the company expects to receive results soon.
Let us remind that, last year, Strickland Metals set aside USD 37 million for the purchase of the Rogozna project.
