Australians on cusp of discovery of enormous quantity of gold on Rogozna - Drill rig hits 500-meter intercept

Strickland Metals may be on the cusp of a massive porphyry discovery after its diamond drill rig hit a whopping 493-meter intercept grading 0.14 grams per ton (g/t) gold from 223 m at its Jezerska Reka prospect.

The assays from the new hole also show a 412 m section running at grades of 130 parts per million (ppm) copper from a depth of 300 m, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Initial geochemical testing of the target was conducted in 2023 and was followed up with a geophysical survey hinting at the possibility of something big.

Strickland hired porphyry expert David Cooke to help it get to grips with the relatively new style of mineralization for the project area.

Dr Cooke’s independent technical review discovered gold mineralization extends over several hundred meters at the prospect.

Strickland Metals managing director Paul L’Herpiniere said that to intercept almost 500 meters of porphyry-related veining and associated alteration in just the second hole drilled at Jezerska Reka was a highly encouraging development. – The potential for a large-scale porphyry discovery at Rogozna adds to the already substantial potential of what is a very large gold and base metals project with an already globally significant, and growing, resource inventory – said the head of the Australian company which, let us remind, bought the gold mining project on the Serbian mountain Rogozna near Novi Pazar last spring.

The next diamond drilling exploration campaign is set to begin in early April. New drill holes will target a low-resistivity anomaly further west of the latest drill hole, where the company believes the core of the anomaly may lie, the Sydney Morning Herald adds.

Last year, on Rogozna, Strickland drilled over 60,000 meters.

Their first hole in the Sanac field led to a discovery of a belt of nearly 90 meters with 4 g/t of gold, whereas last autumn, they struck gold at up to 5.6 g/t in Medenovac.

As announced earlier, in 2025, Strickland plans exploratory drilling of more than 80,000 meters, which pertains not just to Serbia, but also their Yandal gold project in western Australia.
