Instead of demolishing 100 houses, tunnel to be built – Plans to continue construction of Milos Veliki highway

After the section of the Milos Veliki highway from Pakovrace to Pozega has been completed, its construction is planned to continue further towards Ivanjica, in order to complete the route to Boljare.

Earlier, information appeared that according to the original plan, the construction of this section in the territory of the municipality of Ivanjica would result in the demolition of about 100 houses and the occupation of fertile land.

The locals expressed great concern and dissatisfaction, therefore a meeting was held in Ivanjica between representatives of the local government, the CRBC company and the locals of Radaljevo.

– After discussions with state authorities and investors, it was decided to create a new conceptual solution that includes a new tunnel variant that will bypass more than 90% of the disputed plots – the mayor of the municipality of Ivanjica, Aleksandar Mitrovic, told RINA.

He emphasizes that, in this way, the state has shown its willingness to meet the needs of the people despite the fact that the new route will cost significantly more.
