The Environmental Impact Assessment Study was prepared by the companies ECOlogica URBO from Kragujevac and Ehting from Belgrade. The urban planning project covers an area of approximately 57.9 hectares.
The planned bulk cargo terminal will be of the open type, with an operational quay of 630 meters in length and six transshipment points (berths) with a total length of 105 meters.
The project envisages the construction of an operational quay and the terminal’s backfill area, a raw material dump, a sub-terminal for the separation of sand and gravel, a sub-terminal for concrete aggregates and concrete and asphalt bases, an administration building with vehicle access control and a building next to the scale, facilities for port operators, a transformer station and a connecting switchgear, traffic areas and parking lots, a corridor for the passage of the railroad track according to the port’s DRP, as well as green areas.
The administration building will have a floor area of GF+1, consisting of 18 container units, with offices, video surveillance rooms and a meeting room. 12 buildings for port operators will be built behind the berths, which represents the maximum number of possible operators on the site.
The location requirements for the project were issued at the end of 2024, while the companies that will carry out the technical control of the project for the construction permit were recently selected. In the tender announced by the Port Governance Agency in early July, the contract was won by the Institute of Transportation CIP, Axis gradjevinski biro from Sremska Kamenica and Statik from Kovin, as the only bidders.
The construction of the complex is planned in two phases. In the first phase, key infrastructure elements such as the operational quay, terminal, administrative building, vehicle entrance and internal infrastructure will be completed, while in the second phase, after the completion of the first one, the construction of port operator facilities will follow in accordance with the needs and dynamics of activating the entire complex.
As eKapija previously wrote, the value of the investment is estimated at around EUR 83.4 million, and construction is planned to begin this year and be completed by 2027.
