Serbia to establish AI and cyber districts within Lozionica

Serbia is preparing to establish an AI district and a Cyber district in the eGovernment House, within the Lozionica complex, which will include representatives of the non-governmental sector, startup companies, business, science and innovation, in addition to eGovernment employees, said Mihailo Jovanovic, Director of the IT and eGovernment Office, in Lyon at the 18th International Law Enforcement Intellectual Property Crime Conference.

Jovanovic presented Serbia's results in the field of information security and artificial intelligence at the panel “Identification and Mitigation of Risks from Digital and AI Threats.”

He also stated that the installation of a new supercomputer in Kragujevac was underway, the performance of which was seven times stronger than the existing one.

He also stated that the adoption of the new Law on Information Security, which is aligned with the European NIS2 Directive, was in the final stage, as the Bill was in the National Assembly.

– In addition to the fact that this Law provides for the establishment of the Information Security Office, it also expands the sectors under regulation, redefines the status of ICT system operators and introduces the obligation of annual risk assessment and incident reporting within 24 hours – Jovanovic emphasized, the Office announced.
