Nina Drakic, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, emphasizes that investors are only looking for clear "rules of the game," consistent application of regulations and an open dialogue between the state and the economy. Therefore, she says, it is important that Montenegro, in addition to reforms that will improve the business environment, devise and develop support mechanisms that will attract investors precisely to sectors with the greatest development potential.
Arijana Nikolic Vucinic, Executive Director of the Foreign Investors Council of Montenegro, says in an interview with eKapija that, despite the slight increase in the ease of doing business index in 2024, Montenegro still faces numerous challenges that make it difficult to attract productive and long-term investments. Key challenges, such as the lack of transparency, frequent changes in legislation and low efficiency of public administration, continue to slow down the development of the business environment.
In the Bijelo Polje industrial zone, on the site of the former Yugoslav giant Vunko, Bravera City Park, the largest retail center in Montenegro and the region, was recently opened. Behind this project is the Velickovic family, brothers Vladimir and Petar, who have been investing in their city for more than three decades. And they do not intend to stop, on the contrary. As they said in an interview with eKapija, a second phase of Bravera City Park development is planned, within which sports fields will also be built. And they also want to build a high-class hotel in one of the best locations in Bijelo Polje.

We talked about all this with Vladimir Popovic, General Manager of Carine.
