Profit of EPS at RSD 27.4 billion in year’s first half – 7% more coal produced than in same period last year

The General Assembly of the JSC Elektroprivreda Srbije has adopted the Report on the Implementation of the Three-Year Business Plan for the first six months of 2025 and the realized profit amounts to RSD 27.4 billion, and the cash flows are stable, EPS announced.

Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, the minister of mining and energy and the representative of the founder in the General Assembly of JSC EPS, said that the trend of a continuous production and financial stability of the company had continued and especially emphasized the importance of the results achieved in the mining sector.

– Coal production is higher than planned by 8 percent, but what’s more important and what shows the positive trend is the fact that, in the first six months of this year, 7 percent more coal was produced than in the same period last year. We have to continue that growth trend and that is why maximum effort has to be made for the project of the preparation of the mechanization for the new Kolubara mine “Radljevo” to be completed, so that the overburden production, a pre-condition for the exploitation of new quantities of coal, could begin – said Djedovic Handanovic.

She reminded that, in the first quarter of 2025, the first solar power plant “Petka” in Kostolac had been put into test operation and that EPS’s first wind farm was expected to start its test operations not long after.
