The company EXPO 2027 has confirmed that changes will be made to its leadership team, explaining that the reason lies solely in an internal reorganization. The project for organizing the international specialized exhibition EXPO in Belgrade is entering a new stage of development and execution.

Belgrade-based media reported today that the current director of EXPO 2027, Dusan Borovcanin, will be replaced by Danilo Jerinic.

EXPO 2027 is reaching a new development milestone and shifting its strategic focus to ensure continued progress, in line with previously defined plans and the experience of other world exhibitions. The company is now transitioning from international positioning and strategic planning to a phase of active implementation and operational execution. This means construction and operations will now take center stage, enabling the successful development of infrastructure, exhibition spaces, and program content – the company’s official statement reads.

It is further stated that leadership rotation and changes in key positions will take place within the organization.

Borovcanin, as noted, was one of the pivotal figures in securing the bid and is recognized as an expert in congress tourism and strategic tourism development planning in Serbia. He will now move into an advisory role to incoming director Jerinic, who currently serves as Head of Operations at EXPO 2027.

- In the past period, Jerinic has established the Operations Sector and successfully laid the groundwork in exhibition design, construction processes, operational space management, environmental protection, transport and logistics, as well as event management systems. Given that the plan is to hand over pavilion keys to participants in the autumn of next year, these areas will be critical to the company and the fulfillment of its strategic goals – the statement concludes.
