Although the plan for the development of the Belgrade Fair has not been adopted, the demolition of this symbol of the capital city has begun. According to media reports, the general director has also been replaced, and it is stated that the new director is the former head of the Post Office's rolling stock, and the president of the Assembly is the owner of STR from Zemun.

As is known, Belgrade Waterfront intends to take over the area of the Belgrade Fair, except for Hall 1. Only formalities are pending regarding the adoption of the development plan for that part of the city.

The so-called Painting Workshop (“Slikarnica”) at the Belgrade Fair was demolished the other day.

Law and practice

According to the law, no preparatory work is possible before obtaining a building permit, which no one has been able to obtain yet because the plan is in the process of public discussion.

The demolition of the Painting Workshop will apparently be classified as preparatory work that does not require a permit. These include, for example, prefabricated structures around the Fair, installing fences, and the like.

All this suggests that a public hearing will be scheduled soon, so that the clearing process can continue. Let us remind that the public hearing was supposed to be held on June 30, but it was postponed due to about 10,000 objections to the presented plan for the area.

Personnel changes

The fact that the demolition of the Fair is approaching is also indicated by the fact that, according to media reports, the General Director of the Belgrade Fair, Danka Selic, has been replaced.

It is stated that the new director is Nikola Bankovic, who was the head of the Post Office's rolling stock and the president of the local SNS committee in Rakovica.

The Assembly of the Belgrade Fair has also been formed. The previous president, Rade Sevic, was replaced by Abdel Gavad Sadi, the owner of the independent retail store “Sadi” from Zemun.

On July 7, a report was submitted to the Business Registers Agency regarding the change of members of the Supervisory Board. Twenty-seven-year-old Marko Blazic from the Center for Social Stability and a frequent guest of the regime’s media was appointed as the president of the Supervisory Board, replacing Miroslav Milosevic.
