Net Profit of Serbian Companies Drops Nearly 10% in 2024 Despite Revenue Growth – Trade Sector Leads in Profit Share

Net profit for the year amounted to RSD 866 billion, marking a 9.9% decrease compared to 2023. A total of 68,387 companies reported a positive net result, while 31,069 operated at a loss. The largest contributions to overall profit came from the trade, manufacturing, mining, and construction sectors.
The trade sector accounted for the highest share of total profit at 24%.
Company assets increased by 7.9%, equity rose by 6.8%, while debt levels remained unchanged from the previous year. The majority of financial resources were concentrated in manufacturing and trade.
Positive net working capital grew by 25%, reaching RSD 657 billion. However, micro-enterprises remained largely in financial imbalance.
