Incentives for regional development, i.e. investment by the state and its institutions in the development of the economy and the non-profit sector, are presented on the RegMPRR Map according to purposes, users, implementers, as well as the type of financial incentive and territorial direction of funds, according to the announcement of the SBRA.
In addition to data on incentives, the RegMPRR Map includes data from other registers maintained by the Agency and data taken from other state bodies and organizations. Namely, key data on the economy and non-profit sector (structure indicators, indebtedness, illiquidity and financial performance) are given, as well as basic data (area, number of inhabitants, average salary, GDP, number of the employed and the unemployed, etc.), in total and by territorial principle, for the previous four years, in tabular and graphic form in Serbian and English.
The total regional development incentives in 2024 amount to 346.4 billion dinars, which is 22.3% more than the previous year. Of the total realized incentives, 328.4 billion dinars or 94.8% are related to non-reimbursable funds, of which 200.9 billion dinars are earmarked for non-reimbursable subsidies. Compared to the previous year, grants increased by 24.9%.
According to the purpose of the investment, 85.7% (296.9 billion dinars) of the total realized incentives are aimed at: encouraging agriculture (120.1 billion dinars); education, science, culture and sports (55.1 billion dinars); traffic infrastructure (47.0 billion dinars); encouraging production (31.2 billion dinars); encouraging scientific and research work, research and development (26.7 billion dinars), as well as energy infrastructure (16.8 billion dinars). Investment in the mentioned areas increased by 28.2% compared to the previous year.
The largest part of the total implemented incentives is aimed at agricultural holdings, which refers to 118.7 billion dinars, which is 34.3%, then to the economy, namely to companies and entrepreneurs, 118.0 billion dinars, which is 34.1%, to institutions in the field of education and science, 61.8 billion dinars, which is 17.8%, and to local self-government units, 31.6 billion dinars, which is 9.1%. Compared to the previous year, the amounts given to agricultural holdings increased significantly (about 2.5 times).
– Information from the RegMPRR Map is important for investors and subjects of regional development in the process of making decisions on incentive investments, with the aim of reducing regional imbalances, through strengthening the economy of a certain territory and raising the level of competitiveness of the economy in that territory. Before investing in a certain territory, it is of interest to investors to obtain and observe both the characteristics of the achieved economic development and the potential for the development of the chosen territory (level of development of the municipality, number of inhabitants, qualification structure of the unemployed, etc.) – the SBRA states.
Users of the RegMPRR Map can obtain data sets for all four territorial levels (Republic of Serbia, regions, districts and municipalities) with a suitable search, and published data are available free of charge.
