Differences in salaries between municipalities in Serbia up to EUR 1,000 – Employees earn RSD 109,272 on average in April

According to the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, average gross salaries and wages calculated for April 2025 amounted to RSD 150,777, while average net salaries and wages amounted to RSD 109,272.

Increase of gross salaries and wages, and net salaries and wages, in the period January-April 2025, relative to the same period last year amounted to 11.7% in nominal terms, i.e. 7.0% in real terms.

Compared with the same month last year, average gross salaries and wages and average net salaries and wages for April 2025 increased by 13.1% in nominal terms and by 8.7% in real terms.

Median net salaries and wages for April 2025 amounted to RSD 83,974, meaning that 50% of employees realized wages and salaries up to the mentioned amount.

Big differences in salaries between municipalities in Serbia

The biggest net salaries are earned in Belgrade municipalities.

In the municipality of Stari grad, the average salary amounted to RSD 195,035, which is around EUR 1,664. In Vracar, an average salary of RSD 186,892 (EUR 1,594) was recorded, and in Savski venac, RSD 177,489 (EUR 1,514). In New Belgrade, the amount is RSD 177,418 (EUR 1,513), whereas in Vozdovac and Zvezdara, around RSD 143,906 (EUR 1,227) and RSD 142,020 (EUR 1,211) is paid respectively.

Of the bigger cities, the average salary in Novi Sad amounted to RSD 124,012 (EUR 1,058), in Bor it was RSD 126,649 (EUR 1,080), whereas in the Nis municipality of Medijana, it amounted to RSD 118,197 (EUR 1,008).

On the other end, the lowest salaries in April were recorded in southern Serbian municipalities. In Bojnik, the average salary amounted to RSD 74,224 (around EUR 633), in Presevo RSD 74,428 (EUR 635), in Vlasotince RSD 74,544 (EUR 636), and in Vranjska Banja RSD 75,019 (EUR 640).

By the way, the difference between the municipality with the highest average salary and the municipality with the lowest one was slightly over EUR 800 in June 2023.
