The Serbian Railways Infrastructure company has opened the public procurement procedure within which a bidder is sought, that is, an expert institution, for the preparation of a Study on the Assessment of the Structural Condition of the Novi Sad Station Building. This indicates that the job will not be done by the Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad after all. The faculty got the job last winter within a direct negotiation procedure.

Let us remind that Serbian Railways Infrastructure awarded the job of preparing a Study on the Assessment of the Structural Condition of the Novi Sad Station Building to the Faculty of Technical Sciences from that city and the Institute for Materials Testing at the beginning of the year. The agreed price, in a negotiated procedure without a public call for tenders, was 29.9 million dinars, excluding the VAT.

Serbian Railways Infrastructure previously suspended the first negotiation procedure for the preparation of the study because no bids were submitted in response to that call. This procedure was initiated on November 27 last year.

The explanation for awarding the contract without a public call for tenders was “exceptional urgency caused by events that the contracting authority could not foresee and in accordance with the strict conditions set out in the Law,” but there have been no concrete steps regarding this job in the meantime.

Bids may be submitted by June 19.
