Banat to get another wind farm and two solar power plants with total power of 250 MW – New energy project near Alibunar planned

The company Vetroelektrana Banat 5 doo plans to build a wind farm with a power of 120 MW and two solar power plants in the territory of the municipality of Alibunar. According to the Detailed Regulation Plan, which is currently available for public review, the encompassed area amounts to close to 2,503 hectares.

The wind farm will be located on the non-urbanized area outside the settlement, in the cadastral municipality Banatski Karlovac, Nikolinci and Lokve.

The project is planned in two phases – the first phase entails the construction of 28 wind generators in the cadastral municipalities Banatski Karlovac and Nikolinci, whereas the second phase includes a potential construction of two solar power plants in Banatski Karlovac.

According to the preliminary analyses, the wind turbines will have an individual power of up to 8 MW, whereby the total installed power of the wind farm will amount to 120 MW. The maximum height of the wind generator poles, including the blades in the upper position, will reach up to 250 meters, whereas the rotor diameter will be around 190 meters.

As for the solar power plants, one will have a maximum power of 60 MW, whereas the other will be able to produce up to 70 MW.

The Detailed Regulation Plan was prepared by the PE Urbanizam Pancevo, and the public review lasts until the end of March.

Let us remind that this project was also talked about in mid-2023, when the municipality announced the early public review. The company WV International Ventures was cited at the time as the company which had commissioned the plan.
