Four days after this campaign, the Tax Administration announced that it was submitting data due to the great interest of the public and the media regarding the number of fiscal slips issued by four store chains.
Specifically, this refers to the number of fiscal slips issued on the day of the boycott, as well as comparative data for several days in January.
On Friday, January 31, 2025, the number of issued fiscal slips is 865,758.
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the number of issued fiscal slips is 1,157,985.
On Friday, January 17, 2025, the number of issued fiscal slips is 1,103,159.
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the number of issued fiscal slips is 1,095,561.
– Please note that the submitted data are cumulative, bearing in mind the provisions of Article 7 of the Law on Tax Procedure and Tax Administration – said the Tax Administration.
When comparing the data on the number of slips issued on the day of the boycott and those issued the day before, it can be seen that 292,227 fewer slips were issued on Friday, January 31.
As for the drop in traffic on the day of the boycott, that data is not known. Dejan Gavrilovic from the Association for Consumer Protection Efektiva, which also called on consumers to boycott, emphasizes that these data are also important when discussing the assessment of the effect of the boycott. He pointed out for Kurir that the data are incomplete and do not show the true effect of the boycott because we do not have data on the value of the traded goods.
– Someone may have bought only bread and received a fiscal slip for it, and in previous days they bought a full cart. But, even through this drop in the number of slips, it can be seen that the citizens are dissatisfied – stated Gavrilovic.
