For a Happy New Year 2023

As always at this time of the year, we will wish you health and happiness and for the next, odd-numbered, non-leap and non-Olympic year to be better than the past one. As God is our witness, we truly believe it this time, because, we have already had it up to here with the expensive, war-ridden Year of Our Lord 2022. We are sure that, this year as well, many have found personal happiness, that some have achieved business successes – finally, our company has gone through it steadily – but it would be good for it all to be even better in 2023, if possible.

Are we right to be optimistic? They say that prices will keep on growing, that people will keep getting killed in the not so distant war zone and that we will get used to it better than when it started, which is certainly nothing to be proud of. Immediately upon its founding the Politika daily wished its readers a happy new year 1905, announcing that the general situation was difficult and that the symbolic date change would, unfortunately, not bring about much that’s good. Politika has survived up to the present day, perhaps with a slightly changed codex, and we, who are already “of age”, though nowhere near a retirement home, would like to keep our spirit of realistic optimism, with both feet on the ground and with our head in the clouds to just the right extent, preventing us from trying to fly without a plane.

Have you noticed how the years, just like days in a popular folk song, go by fast? It’s like you’ve returned from your annual leave yesterday. We should put the past summer behind us without a lot of nostalgia and with a lot oh hope and will, go into the next one. And the one after it, and so on…
