Dear readers,
As the current year is drawing to a close, we want you to welcome the year ahead of us in good health and spirit and impatient to try your hand in new personal and business challenges.
The final months of 2017 brought several important new for businessmen in Serbia – the Law on Bankruptcy Proceedings was amended, as well as several tax laws and the Law on Mandatory Social Insurance Contributions. The first invitation for applying for IPARD funds, eagerly expected throughout the year, also opened.
In 2017, Serbia advanced on the Doing Business list, the public invitation for a concessionaire for the Nikola Tesla Airport was placed (and extended several times), Galenika was sold and the construction of the railway to Budapest started. The program of retraining in the IT sector gathered speed, and the export of IT services exceeded the export of grains for the first time. On the other hand, Corridor 10 is still not complete, the planned GDP growth has not been achieved, the Agrokor affair has shaken the region...
We hope that the business scales will balance towards success to a far greater extent in 2018. The latest piece of good news arrives from the Business Registers Agency – beginning with January 1, entrepreneurs will be able to register electronically, and online establishment of business entities is to become available soon as well.
