Montenegro has been talked about for a long time through several well-known pictures: the sea, hotels, apartments, luxury properties. The country`s investment story is now becoming much broader than that. Money follows new roads, energy, infrastructure, industry, technology and more and more comes up with the question what Montenegro can be in five, not just one tourist season. Meanwhile, the approach to the European Union changes and broadens the business context, from the rules by which companies operate to the opportunities brought by a greater connection with the European market.

That doesn`t mean the road is without obstacles. A small market has its limitations, the administration has its own procedures, and large projects require both capital and time and the infrastructure that can support them. It is therefore no longer enough for an investor to say that Montenegro is an "attractive destination". It is much more important to show what is being built, who is investing, how much is being invested, what the conditions are and what can be left behind from the initial investment.

This is precisely why this edition does not bring another list of good reasons for investing. We researched where the biggest projects are located, which sectors are attracting capital, what the state is changing in the regulatory framework and where opportunities appear that were not on the investment map until yesterday.

For investors, it ultimately boils down to a few specific questions: where they can invest, under what conditions, how quickly they can realize the project and what they can gain from that investment in five or ten years. We are trying to answer exactly those questions in this special editorial.
