Continuous digitization - the future of Krone trailers

(With the new SmartAssistant software function, the "condition" of new as well as older Krone trailers can really be "held in the palm of your hand") In the implementation of the long-term strategy "Transport without emissions", Krone introduces another digitized, intelligent function: insight into the current status of the semi-trailer /trailers without additional investment.

At the largest European specialized trade fair event Transport logistic 2023, which was held from May 9 to 12 in Munich (2,370 exhibitors from 67 countries), the renowned German trailer manufacturer Krone presented another intelligent service for its semi-trailers and trailers: KroneSmartAssistant. With the new technology, the vehicle`s technical status can be transferred to the KroneTelematicsplatform from any location where its product is currently located. A QR code, attached to the Krone trailer (of recent years), allows its current status to be quickly recorded and transferred to the "central" with the help of a smartphone. In this way, the fleet manager can at any time receive an up-to-date overview of the operational readiness of an individual vehicle as well as the entire fleet.

Krone emphasizes that the best part is that using this plug-and-play software solution requires no investment.

No pre-registration, special smartphone app or training required! Any person, not just the driver, can easily check the technical status and load performance in just a few minutes. Scanning a QR code requires no more equipment than a standard "smart" phone. After the scan, the trailer is checked in the desired "messenger", directly in the language set on the mobile phone. The program leads through a "dialogue": questions are answered by touching "Yes/No", by entering into the text field or by taking a photo with the camera. Finally, the user must confirm the entered information, then the result is transferred directly to the KroneSmartAssistant user portal and compared there with previous checks.

The software immediately documents changes and damage to the trailer, as well as defects inside the cargo area, such as, for example, missing pallets or straps for securing cargo. Where necessary, the KroneSmartAssistant user portal triggers appropriate alerts. This function greatly affects the profitability of vehicle exploitation, because after such a "remote" check, virtually all costs can be transparently monitored.

Krone states that the new function is universal: the "TalkingTrailer" concept allows older semi-trailers/trailers without telematics to effortlessly integrate into the digital SmartAssistant user portal and thus transport goods more economically and environmentally.
