Aqua park in Sokobanja completed - Investment worth RSD 133 million

A Sokobanja-based aqua park worth RSD 133 million, which was completed on Monday (17 October 2011), will help improve the tourist offer of this town, said Serbian Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic.

Observing the finishing works on the aqua park, of which construction kicked off in April 2011, Dulic said that it was only one out of 247 projects financed as part of the assistance program for the construction industry in global economic crisis, for which the state had earmarked a total of RSD 18 billion.

According to his words, the projects financed as part of that program were "developed on the basis of concrete needs of the local self-government."

Dulic invited citizens to visit Sokobanja and the aqua park at the start of the next summer season.

He also invited all local self-governments in Serbia to shorten their procedure for issuing a building permit to citizens, so that the competitiveness of the Serbian economy could never be questioned again.

Members of the local self-government stressed that the aqua park was the most significant investment project in Sokobanja in the last 30 years.

Sokobanja Mayor Dimitrije Lukic expects the number of tourists in that town to grow upon the completion of the aqua park.

Lukic assessed that fast completion of the aqua park proved that the municipality had good capacities because it had issued all required permits for the construction in a very short time.

ZTR Gas Oil from Sokobanja, Gradi-Tel doo from Sarbanovac-Bor, Ingel from Knjazevac, Zona-DIS doo from Kursumlija and VK Kompani doo from Sokobanje were in charge of the construction of the aqua park.
