State and building companies agreed on construction of 5,000 apartments in location of barracks "4. jul" in Belgrade

Finding solutions for quicker issuing of building permits, resolving the problems of liquidity of building companies, introduction of tax reliefs and appearance of domestic building companies in our and foreign markets will be the tasks of the new Task Force comprising the representatives of the ministries of economy, finance, spatial planning, contractors and manufacturers of building materials.

The proposal for its forming came from Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković who had a meeting yesterday (February 11, 2010) in the Government of Serbia with about 40 representatives of building companies. At that meeting, as Politika learns, it was agreed that the state start construction of 5,000 apartments in the location of barracks "4. juli" in Belgrade.

– Everybody agreed that the construction of 100 buildings in the location of the barracks was good way for domestic companies to come out of insolvency. In that way, all supplies of building materials will be used and large number of companies will be employed. We did not talk about the purpose of apartments, but I assume that most of them will be given to the Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia – Goran Rodić from the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia told Politika.
