"Ikea" Builds Malls in Nis and Cacak - Negotiations With the Swedish Furniture Manufacturer

The famous Swedish furniture manufacturer provided the land for its sales centers in Nis and Cacak, and is currently negotiating with a private owner of land near the highway in the vicinity of Belgrade. This information was announced yesterday (November 5, 2009.) at the meeting with representatives of the Serbian government. On the other hand, the Serbian side said that they can expect to gain ownership of the land of the Institute of Animal Husbandry for the construction of the trade center for ten months. Government negotiators explained the steps that precede this. As representatives of the "Ikea" said, it is necessary that the city authorities have previously to detail urban plan, and to finalize the procedure for change the usage of the land from agriculture into the construction land, then the remaining paperwork will be completed in a short period.
"Ikea" is responded to that they have already started the negotiations with an owner of land near the highway, but that they have already secured land in Nis and Cacak. Announced also that it will open similar centers in Slovenia and Croatia. Oliver Dulic, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, said briefly that it was one in a series of working meetings and refused to specify in which phase of the negotiations with Ikea they are in now.
- Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning is everything in his power to make this investment realized, since the arrival of "Ikea" to Serbia is of great importance for the citizens - said Dulic short for "Blic".

It is interesting that the Croatian government decided that the large investment process of obtaining building permits reduced to 45 days. Otherwise, "Ikea" is the earlier presented to the Serbian government plans to build department stores and shopping center of the investment of 300 million EUR and employ about two thousand people. Planned time for the area of commodity houses in Belgrade on 35,000 square meters, according to previous announcements from buying a land to the opening of department stores are needed for two years. It was announced that the commodity sell a home furnishings and fine furniture while the shopping centers are going to attract other companies as well that would like to benefit from a large number of visitors who come for the products of this very well known Swedish company.
