Krusevac to Get Science-Technology Park Too – Total Investment Including Equipment EUR 16.5 Million

The construction of a science-technology park, that is, the first building of this complex, which will take up 1.6 hectares, is planned in Krusevac, and the total investment including the equipment amounts to EUR 16.5 million.

– The STP will be raised in the location of the former administrative building of HI Zupa in Dedina. It will take up an area of 1.6 hectares, which will feature the main building, conference halls and 39 business modules meant for the operations of tech- and research-oriented companies for over 200 users. In the second part, 14 production modules of 280 m2 each are planned. The total floor area of the halls is around 4,000 m2 – says the city’s official web portal.

During the signing of the agreement, the prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, emphasized that, regarding the STPs in Cacak and Nis, the works were in phase 2, that is, the construction of other buildings, whereas, in Krusevac, a new, first building of the science-technology park would be built.

The Government of Serbia recently signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on a loan of EUR 80 million, of which EUR 70 million is meant for an additional construction of science-technology parks.

The prime minister emphasized that those investments should help keep young, highly-educated people from leaving their home towns and help the ICT sector, as the fastest growing sector in Serbia, continue developing.
