Russia to export gas to China – Force of Siberia gas pipeline construction started

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, opened on Monday, September 1, 2014, the works on the construction of the gas pipeline through which Russia will for the first time export gas to China.

- We are starting the biggest construction project in the world. There will be no more important project in the near future – Putin outlined in Yakutia, the east part of Siberia.

As the Russian agencies report, Putin said that the project is very important both for Russia and China.

The Force of Siberia will be 4000 km long and with the capacity of 61 billion cubic meters. The gas pipeline and necessary infrastructure construction is estimated at USD 55 billion.

The construction of the Chinese part of the gas pipeline will start in the first half 2015, the Vice President of the Chinese Government, Zhang Gaoli, said.

Russia now exports gas to ex-Soviet Union countries and EU.
