In the next three years, in partnership with the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) and with the support of German partners, Serbia will implement the project for the development of sustainable biomass energy market in the country, worth 8 million EUR.
It was announced today by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Snezana Bogosavljević Boskovic, after a meeting with the Minister of Environment, Climate and Energy of the German province of Baden Wuerttemberg, Franc Unterschteller.
She pointed out that this visit proofs willingness of Germany and its institutions to assist Serbia in the field of environmental protection, and one of those institutions is the GIZ, to which she thanked on providing a financial and professional support.
Bogosavljević Boskovic recalled that they implemented a number of projects together with GIZ, including waste water and waste management.
- The first phase of the project is completed and it refers to the detailed analysis of the five major municipalities, while the second phase will develop cost-effective solutions that are applicable in Serbia - said Minister of Agriculture and Ecology to the reporters.
Representatives of the Serbian and German delegations discussed the possibilities for improving the existing cooperation and future directions of cooperation in the field of environmental protection, as well as agriculture and water management, and other areas covered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, said Bogosavljević Boskovic.
The next meeting is, according to her, arranged for September 9, in Germany.
