Air-traffic control ready for larger number of airplanes in our skies – Companies relocate flight corridors due to conflicts in Ukraine

As he added, he had already discussed this with the representatives of air traffic service, because world companies recommended its airplanes to fly over Romania and Bulgaria on its way to the Far East.
SMATSA will not have any boundaries to direct even larger number of airplanes, owing to the fact that it has necessary capacities. Currently, averagely 2,230 planes are monitored, while sometimes that number reaches 2,600.
After a Malaysian plane crashed in Ukraine on Friday (18 July, 2014), air-companies flying from airports in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris and London, redirected its flights to the Far East to the south corridor, over Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania.
Croatian Air-traffic control assessed that air-companies could make pressure on airspace of that country. Potential additional requests of different air-companies to fly over Croatia will burden flight controllers and it is a question if they could answer positively, at least during summer months.
