The representatives of Mining Smelter Basin (RTB) Bor, local self-government and the German company BDH Consulting have signed an agreement in Slatina to build an industrial waste and feces water treatment plant under a EUR 50 million project.

The industrial waste water treatment plant should be completed by the year's end, whereas the treatment plant for feces water is expected to be finished a bit later, which will solve the biggest ecological problem that people living in the village of Slatina near Bor have been facing for decades: waste sewage and industrial water polluting the Borska River.

RTB Bor General Manager Blagoje Spaskovski said that 80 percent of the project funding would be provided as non-refundable from the European fund, from Germany, with a great help of the German Embassy. The remaining 20 percent will come from the local self-government and RTB Bor.

- Our main task is to have water completely cleaned biologically and returned as such to the nature - BDH Consulting Group CEO Gunther Hefner told Tanjug news agency.
