EU gives up revision of South Stream agreements


The European Commission and Russia will seek a joint solution for South Stream without revising the interstate agreements signed with the countries along the route of that gas pipeline, the Russian daily Vedemosti reported Monday.
According to that daily, this information has been confirmed by the representatives of the Russian Energy Ministry and European Commissionar for Energy Gunther Oettinger.
Russia and the EU agreed on January 17th to form a task force to resolve all technical and legal issues related to the South Stream project.
