New Law on Public Procurements saves Serbia RSD 42.3 billion

The new Law on Public Procurements saved our country RSD 42.3 billion in the first half of this year when compared to the same period in 2012, it has simplified the use and increased transparency, Director of the Public Procurement Authority Predrag Jovanovic said Wednesday.
Public procurements in Serbia in the first half of this year cost a total of RSD 130.54 billion down from RSD 172.84 billion in the same period last year.
Jovanovic pointed out at a press conference that the new law had become effective on 1 April 2013, stressing that the results should be even better in the following period.
The Public Procurement Authority announced that it would, together with the Anti-Corruption Agency, adopt the Plan for Fighting Corruption in December for a period of next two years.
