Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) sent a notice to the prime minister and the first deputy prime minister of Serbia on Wednesday (October 9th)informing them that 22 investors have been blocked by the Economy Ministry.
- We primarily pointed to several German companies known to the public in our notice, as well as to the consequences of this kind of blockade, and we also mentioned that some of them had contacted the Embassy of FR Germany regarding this problem. Two days later (Friday, October 11), as a response to aforementioned notice, the Economy Ministry organized a media attack on the Program of Incentives for New Jobs, which then continued over the weekend with the statements of the economy minister and his advisors. These statements include a series of lies seriously accusing SIEPA of negligence and fails in the implementation of the Program of Financial Incentives - SIEPA said in a release.
The Agency also stressed that they were not the ones "going all over Serbia and spending people's money irresponsibly, as hinted, given that all these contracts were signed by the Ministry, which is also the one paying incentives to investors."
As they pointed out in the release, another fat lie is that all the money is granted without any control whatsoever.
In the end, SIEPA also pointed to the harmfullness of the Economy Ministry spreading such disinformation publicly.
