European Parliament adopts decision allowing possible temporary suspension of visa free regime for Serbia

The European Parliament adopted on Thursday an amendment to EU visa regulation allowing temporary suspension of a visa free travel regime for non EU member countries, including Serbia.
A total of 631 MPs cast their votes for this amendment with 236 of them voting against its adoption.
MP Tanya Fayon asked for the postponement of voting, calling the amendment "illegal" as it limited the rights of the parliament.
Her proposal was rejected, and the amendment was later adopted.
