Serbian Viagra in German market

The Pharmaceutical Group STADA began selling drug, a bioequivalent to Viagra, in Germany. The drug is the first generic sildenafil used for treating the erectile dysfunction, and is produced at the Hemofarm factory in Vrsac.

Sales of the drug, which will be as much as ten times cheaper than Viagra, started on the same day after the patent for the active substance in Viagra expired, Hemofarm announced.

The same drug was developed and launched in Serbia under the brand name Sildena, and with its price it is more accessible than other drugs from this group.

Legislation in Germany does not allow that products protected by patent are stored and sold.

Considering that Hemofarm has been member of the STADA Group since 2006, STADA had the opportunity to produce and sell the first generic drug for erectile dysfunction in Serbia and to launch sildenafil to the German market, right after the expiration of the patent protection.

The president of the Executive Board of STADA Group, Hartmut Retzlaff said that company portfolio is now enhanced with a quality product for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Sildena is bioequivalent to Viagra, but much more accessible in the term of price. This is very important for men with this problem, said Retzlaff, adding that the launch of the Sildena product will enable better life quality for the men with this issue.

- Our product can be adjusted to individual needs of the patient, which is, besides the price, another advantage for the users. The package is of very descret design so it can be carried anywhere, without making users to feel uncomfortable - explained Retzlaff.
