Gazprom and Makedonski Energetski Resursi to build South Stream together

Russia and Macedonia have prepared an intergovernment agreement on cooperation in the construction of the Macedonian branch of South Stream gas pipeline, Itartass news agency reported Friday (5 July 2013), citing the website of the Russian government.

According to a document prepared by the Russian Energy Ministry, in case an analysis carried out with the aim of designing the gas pipeline confirms its feasibility, Gazprom and the Makedonski Energetski Resursi company will form a 50/50 joint venture to implement the project.
