Tesla introduces batteries switch spots for electric cars

Nasice-based Croatian construction material producer, Nexe Group, sold an 87% stake in Serbian Jelen Do company.

According to regional media, the Dutch investor, Carmeuse, acquired the shares.

As reported by the Nexe Group, this transaction is a part of a long-term restructuring plan and core business orientation which started during 2012.

This transaction will considerably decrease financial debts towards insured trustees as as well as its financial debts which would positively influence implementation of the pre-bankruptcy deal and settlement of other trustees, according to the Nexe Group announcement.

Luxury electric motors producer, American Tesla company, presented in Los Angeles the fast battery switch concept. New service will enable owners to, within only a minute and a half, continue their journey with new, fully charged batteries in a vehicle.

Places for the so-called “switch” of batteries will be by the end of 2013 installed firstly in California with majority of Tesla S model owners and after that along the way connecting Boston and the capital, Washington.

The company Executive Manager, Elon Musk, said that the batteries switch procedure, which lasts about 90 seconds, will be very practical and that it would not require passengers to leave their cars. The service will cost between 60 and 80 dollars and at the same price, an owner will get its original, fully charged batteries.

Batteries home delivery will also be enabled for owners. The switch places will be installed nearby the existing fully charging pumps and the American company will have to set aside some half a million dollar on average for every spot.

In the beginning, 50 battery sets will be provided and if needed, Tesla will enable additional sets. It is important to mention that the Tesla S model was from the beginning designed in a way it can enable fast batteries switch so that the existing owners will not have to make additional changes on their cars.
