EUR 50 million from EU IPA for cross-border projects of Serbia and Hungary

Serbia and Hungary can count on about EUR 50 million from the EU Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance for cross-border cooperation projects in the period 2014-2020, Deputy Head of the Hungary-Serbia Joint Secretariat Peter Rac announced Wednesday.
He said at a final conference of the cross-border project SMEINT, which is being implemented by the chambers of commerce of Subotica and Szeged, that the first competition for grants for these projects can be expected in 2015.
Rac told the businessmen at the conference in Szeged that the period of programming was underway, adding it would take between 17 and 18 months to complete it.
He added that partners from both sides of the Serbia-Hungary border would be able to apply for grants for their projects.
