Construction of 317 small hydroelectric power stations in Serbia attract 1,380 applications

Public call for the construction of small hydroelectric power stations in 317 locations in Serbia has attracted 1,380 potential investors, local media reported on Wednesday, quoting Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic.
The tender was announced by the Ministry of Energy on February 19th.
The ministry will wait one more week for mailed applications to arrive and then shortlist prospective investors by mid-May, Tanjugbiz news portal cited Mihajlovic as saying.
Contracts will then be signed between the chosen investors and the municipalities where respective projects will be implemented, Mihajlovic said and voiced her expectation that small hydroelectric power stations would be completed in 317 locations in Serbia in 2015 and 2016.
The minister announced that there would be more such tenders in the future.
