Triglav's 2012 profit hits record high of EUR 89.7 million

According to preliminary estimates, Triglav Grupa's 2012 profit before taxation amounts to EUR 89.7 million, whereas its net profit is at EUR 73.2 million, Delo reports. The parent company, Zavarovalnica Triglav, reported a EUR 65.6 million profit before taxation and the net profit of over EUR 50.4 million last year. The largest insurance group in the Adriatic region collected EUR 936.3 million worth of gross premiums in 2012, while the parent company Zavarovalnica alone collected EUR 647.6 million.
The value of premiums collected last year by Zavarovalnica Triglav is down 7 percent from 2011, whereas the value of those collected by Triglav Grupa is down 5 percent from the previous year.
Crisis, reduced economic activity, bankruptcies, decrease in purchasing power are only some of the reasons why the value of premiums dropped in 2012, said people at Zavarovalnica Triglav.
