Azerbaijani investors in Serbia by end-March

Representatives of several Azerbaijani companies, which Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic invited last week in Baku to invest in Serbia, will come to our country by the end of March to discuss the details of several projects, including hotel complex construction in Vrnjacka Banja, Stavalj Mine exploitation, vegetables processing and preservation in a zone between Cacak and Kraljevo, etc.

Predrag Mikic, adviser to the Serbian president for economic issues, told Tanjug news agency that the representatives of numerous companies from Azerbaijan and other countries had expressed interest in creating new jobs in Serbia, adding that it was a great chance to hire young people.

According to him, during the recent visit of the Serbian president to Azerbaijan, local businessmen were introduced to three projects, among which is the construction of a complex of hotels, sports fields and an aqua park in Vrnjacka Banja.

- This project, whith attracted a great attention, requires a EUR 100 million investment, and the estimates are that it can pay off in four or four and a half years - said Mikic.

Besides, Azerbaijani businessmen were also introduced to a project involving the construction of a free zone between Cacak and Kraljevo that would encompass Ladjevci Airport and 22,000 square meters of space for processing, canning and storing vegetables in cold storage plants.

They were also introduce to the Stavalj Mine and Hydroelectric Power Station exploitation project, which Mikic said to have attracted the attention of about twenty investors, especially those from Czech Republic, and the estimates are that that project can pay off in five years.

- Azerbaijani companies have expressed their wish to visit Serbia, and that will happen within the next month, in the period between February 26th and end-March. Aside from these three projects presented to them, local businessmen were also interested in the construction of road infrastructure, hydroelectric power stations and fruit and vegetable processing - said Mikic.
