Dr. Nenad Popović, the man who opens some "sealed" doors with economy

People say that he has had more breakfasts in the White house than at his own home. It is because he was on four praying breakfasts in Washington and is constantly on the road. Dr Nenad Popovic, the manager of the Economy team in the Government of Serbia regarding the matter of Kosovo, admits that his in Washington and Russia very often. He likes to point out that US is a great political and economical friend to us and that we should find a way to get more American investors – that-s why he is one of the founders of `The Serbian-American center`. For Nenad, Russia is the most attractive market (beside the Chinese), and he went there as a businessman when it was just opening. He made a lot of experience and a lot of business friends there. He stood out as a teacher on the University Lomonosov and at The school of mining at the Moscow University. He published over 40 essays and 2 books and he started `The East European center for strategic development`.

Because of his international contacts and experiences, dr Popovic, who has a degree in mechanical engineering, has a Phd in economy. He is a great optimist about then economic perspective of Kosovo and the South of Serbia. He says that economy brings people together not apart. Many people were really surprised when he became the manager of the Economy team in the Government of Serbia regarding Kosovo and the South of Serbia, and gathered 14 top experts to work out the development strategy for Kosovo, Metohija and the South of Serbia, because he did not belong to any of the parties. There was nothing weird about it for him. "I am working in the economy, and the logical thing is that someone from the profession gets a position like that" , announced Popovic who spent a lot of time in the South of Serbia and obviously knows that area and its problems.

Dr Popovic was born in Tuzla 1966. Before the Economy team he was the president of the international company "ABS Holding" which hires 5.000 people, 1.500 from them only in Serbia. He is married to Rina, and they have three children Sava (12), Sonja (10) and Nikola (5). He speaks English and Russian.
