The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has signed annexes to the commercial contract for the design and construction of municipal infrastructure, specifically, sewage infrastructure, in Serbia. The signatories include the Serbian branch of the China Road and Bridge Corporation and representatives of local self-governments.

The contracts cover projects in Subotica, Sombor, Ada, Novi Pazar, Sopot, Svilajnac, Kragujevac, Paracin, Stara Pazova and Zajecar. These represent Phase 3 projects under the "Clean Serbia" program, encompassing 914 kilometers of sewage network and 13 wastewater treatment plants, with a total value of EUR 501,729,494.

The "Clean Serbia" program entails the construction of over 5,200 kilometers of sewage network and 159 wastewater treatment plants, which will benefit more than two million citizens of Serbia.

According to the Ministry, the ultimate goal of the program extends beyond the construction of sewage infrastructure. It also aims to prevent the pollution of rivers, soil and groundwater, thereby fostering a healthier and cleaner environment.
