Green energy from Sremska Mitrovica coming soon – Sunoleo SM to feature 10,000 kW capacity and over 22,500 photovoltaic panels

The Municipality of Sremska Mitrovica will soon gain a new solar power plant with a capacity of approximately 10,000 kW at the Rumski Drum location.

The project developer is the company B2 Sunoleo SM d.o.o. Belgrade; the preliminary design was prepared by the design bureau AL&SA d.o.o. from Pancevo, with Aleksa Komnenic, MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering, serving as the lead designer.

The environmental impact assessment study was prepared by EcoLogica Urbo d.o.o. from Kragujevac.

The Sunoleo SM solar power plant is designed to have a capacity of 9,999 kW and will comprise photovoltaic panels, generation substations TS1 and TS2 and battery storage substations V1, V2, V3, and V4, along with internal cabling and multimode fiber-optic lines.

The power plant will be constructed across four land plots with a total area of 170,463 m2.

The plan entails the construction of a commercial-industrial solar power plant complex utilizing modern, highly energy-efficient technical and technological solutions.

The solar power plant will feature modern photovoltaic panels with individual installed capacities ranging from 530 Wp to 750 Wp.

The construction of Section 1 of the commercial-industrial solar power plant complex is planned for plots 8551/1 and 8551/2, featuring 13,824 PV panels with an individual capacity of 650 Wp, resulting in a total capacity of 8,985.6 kWp.

The construction of Section 2 of the solar power plant complex is planned for cadastral plots 8561 and 8562, featuring a total of 8,688 PV panels with an individual capacity of 650 Wp, resulting in a total installed capacity of 5,647.2 kWp.

The panels will be mounted on 242 fixed support structures, arranged in two rows of PV panels comprising 24 and 48 columns of solar panels, respectively.

The planned height of the transformer station is 3 m, and the height of the photovoltaic panels is 4.5 m.

The total gross area covered by photovoltaic panels will be 65,521.97 m2.
