Let us remind that the company issued a public call in August, but that tender failed because only one company applied, Briv Construction from Kotor, with subcontractor Viamont from Kolasin. That bid was excluded from the procurement process because it did not meet the requirements specified in the tender documentation, prompting the launch of a new tender.
Regarding the repair of the quay wall damage, the Port of Bar is seeking both a designer and a contractor. According to the tender documentation, the deadline for preparing the design documentation is 30 calendar days from the date the contract is concluded.
– The deadline for executing the works is 130 calendar days from the moment the bidder is introduced to the job, that is, from the moment conditions for commencing the repair are met. The timeframe for preparing the design documentation does not include the time required for the review of the documentation or the time necessary to rectify deficiencies based on the reviewer’s comments. The total time allowed for rectifying deficiencies cannot exceed 15 calendar days. The design documentation is considered complete upon receipt of a positive report from the reviewer – the tender explains.
The contract execution site is the Port of Bar, specifically Berth 54 at the passenger terminal, Pier 5.
– The objective of preparing the technical documentation is to restore Berth 54 at the Port of Bar passenger terminal to operational status following damage to a section of the quay wall at the berth on July 30, 2025 – states the project brief.
The damage was caused by strong, fluctuating dynamic pressure from ship propellers acting perpendicular to the pier wall during ship docking, berthing, and departure maneuvers occurring at frequent and continuous intervals.
The total length of the berth is 113.10 meters, and it is designed to accommodate passenger vessels with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 5,000 tons.
Key aspects of the procurement include surveying the existing condition of the waterfront and landside area at the collapsed section of Berth 54 (underwater and geodetic surveys) and producing a report to serve as the basis for the detailed design, preparing the technical documentation, specifically the detailed design for repairing the quay wall damage at Berth 54 and the adjacent operational area, in accordance with the attached project brief, and executing the repair works on the quay wall at Berth 54 and the adjacent operational area at the Port of Bar passenger terminal on a turnkey basis.
Bids may be submitted no later than October 12 at 9:00 AM, and details (in Montenegrin) can be viewed HERE.
