The PE Roads of Serbia has announced a tender for the construction of a section of the Zrenjanin bypass on state road IB-18, spanning 3.61 kilometers (from km 8+669.92 to km 12+283.03). The estimated value of the works is 1.251 billion dinars (excluding VAT), or approximately EUR 10.6 million.

The project entails continuing the already constructed section of the Zrenjanin bypass, extending from the Timisoara Road to the section built from the direction of the Belgrade Road.

The project plans for the construction of a 3.613-kilometer-long roadway, as well as several significant structures along the route.

The works include the construction of a bridge over the Aleksandrovo Canal (at km 12+037.96) and an overpass over the Pancevo-Zrenjanin rail line (at km 11+093.19).

Two roundabouts are also planned: the first at km 9+880.41, connecting the bypass to state road IB-18, and the second at km 12+216.31, at the intersection with the local Zrenjanin-Lukicevo road.

The scope of work also includes public lighting for the roadway, traffic signage, and temporary traffic management measures during construction.

The deadline for completing the entire project is 320 calendar days from the date the contractor is introduced to the site.

The deadline for submitting bids is October 27, and further details can be found HERE.

As a reminder, back in 2024, the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection approved the Environmental Impact Assessment study for the project to construct a section of the Zrenjanin bypass, a project led by the PE Roads of Serbia.

It was stated at the time that this involves the final section of the city bypass, spanning nearly four kilometers, which includes two roundabouts, one connecting to State Road IB No. 18 and the other to the Zrenjanin-Lukicevo local road, as well as an overpass across the rail line and a bridge over the Aleksandrovo Canal.
