Stada to invest another EUR 20 million in Hemofarm’s production facilities in Vrsac

Peter Goldschmidt, CEO of the Stada Group, has announced that Stada will invest an additional EUR 20 million in Hemofarm’s production facilities in Vrsac, noting that Serbia has become a hub for international roles within the Stada Group.

– We have invested hundreds of millions over the past few years, and we have just received approval from Stada’s Global Executive Board to invest another 20 million in Vrsac. This will allow us to increase production and build new manufacturing capacity, and I believe this demonstrates our commitment to the future – Goldschmidt said at a press conference in Belgrade.

He reminded that the Stada Group had acquired Hemofarm 20 years before. Today, the company employs 4,500 people and operates according to the highest European standards.

He noted that, over the preceding two decades, Hemofarm had evolved from a company focused on generic medicines into one that offered, alongside generics, innovative and specialized generic drugs, as well as consumer health products, including supplements.

– Generic medicines are a cornerstone for patients in Serbia – Goldschmidt said, pointing out that 70 to 80 percent of daily prescriptions were for generic medicines and that Hemofarm was the largest supplier of these drugs.

He emphasized that production in Serbia was vital to the Stada Group, noting that products from Serbia were supplied to all European Union countries, as well as to the Middle East and other markets.

According to him, Stada sells its products in more than 100 countries worldwide, with a large number of them coming from Serbia, while Germany is the largest market for the products manufactured here.
