The investment firm CapVest Partners LLP from London announced on the last day of March that it had completed the acquisition of a majority stake in STADA Arzneimittel AG, a German pharmaceutical company specializing in consumer products, generics and specialty drugs.

With this acquisition, the Vrsac-based pharmaceutical company Hemofarm, as part of the STADA Group, officially gained a new owner.

STADA acquired Hemofarm in 2006, and in 2017, STADA itself became majority owned by the funds Bain Capital (USA) and Cinven (UK), which purchased around 63% of the shares, worth approximately EUR 4.1 billion, while the company simultaneously delisted from the stock exchange.

The process of acquiring Stada by CapVest Partners LLP began with the signing of a binding agreement in September 2025, followed by regulatory approvals. The London fund said in a statement that, following strong results in 2025, the completion of the transaction would enable the acceleration of STADA’s global growth and investments in organic development and new acquisitions.

STADA employs around 12,000 people worldwide and last year generated revenues of EUR 4.3 billion, up six percent, and a record adjusted EBITDA of EUR 961 million.
