Elektroprivreda Srbije has announced a public call for tenders for companies and investors to purchase and jointly develop renewable energy projects.

The projects are divided into two groups.

The first group of projects includes solar power plants, wind power plants and hybrid projects with an installed capacity of at least 50 megawatts, connected to the transmission system. For solar and wind projects, battery energy storage systems are not mandatory, but will be additionally evaluated if they are present. For projects in the first group, EPS will select those that can be purchased through a competitive procedure. The method of submitting bids and the deadlines are defined in the documentation available on the portal www.oieakvizicije.eps.rs.

The second group includes projects that use biomass and municipal, industrial or organic waste to produce electricity or heat, including plants for producing energy from waste, biogas and the use of landfill gas, as well as green hydrogen production projects.

EPS is ready to offer its locations and infrastructure to partners, including the locations of the Morava and Kolubara A thermal power plants, and to develop new energy projects with them, it is added.

The call for the second group of projects is open for 60 days, after which EPS will, in accordance with the expressed interest, define specific models of cooperation and project development.

The public call was published in the Politika newspaper and on the EPS website.

EPS General Manager Dusan Zivkovic said in a statement that the goal was to diversify EPS’s portfolio through a transparent and competitive procedure in order to be the bearer of the energy transition and at the same time preserve the security of electricity supply.

The director emphasized the importance of the fact that EPS’s infrastructure could be put into use for new energy projects and thus accelerate their implementation.
