Nis to get modern maternity hospital – Tender for project worth EUR 65 million

Nis is getting a new modern maternity hospital and a medical campus under the same roof.

The construction of the new Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic within the University Clinical Center Nis is one of the most important health infrastructure projects in Serbia.

The Ministry of Public Investments, the investor of this capital project, has announced a tender for the construction of the Clinic with supporting facilities and a public garage.

The estimated value is 7,637,500,000 dinars or EUR 65 million.

The architectural design for the new Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic was developed by Arhitektonsko-gradjevinski institut doo from Novi Sad, which Ekapija has already written about.

The subject of the public procurement includes the construction of a complex within the University Clinical Center Nis, which consists of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic with supporting facilities and a multi-story public garage.

The works include preparatory works, construction and structural works, hydrotechnical, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and signal installations, medical gas systems, as well as works on the exterior, internal roads and horticultural landscaping of the complex.

The Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic is designed as a building with a floor structure of B+GF+4, with a total gross floor area of 21,413.37 m2, with an accompanying building for medical gases with a floor structure of GF and a total gross floor area of 91 m2 and a ground-floor substation with a total gross floor area of 137.91 m2.

The multi-story public garage, with a floor structure of B+GF+4 and a total gross floor area of 14,824.93 m2, is designed with a capacity of 405 parking spaces, including 40 spaces for people with disabilities and 2 spaces with chargers for electric vehicles.

Public garage 2, also with a floor structure of B+GF+4, covers an area of 19,500 m2 and about 500 parking spaces.

The plot on which the maternity hospital is being built has an area of 41,299 m2 and is owned by the Republic of Serbia.

According to the documentation, the Nis maternity hospital will have 130 hospital beds, which Ekapija has already written about.

The facility will combine a wide range of gynecological, obstetrical and neonatological services, including diagnostics, surgical treatment, in vitro fertilization, perinatology, intensive care and outpatient facilities.

In addition to the health function, the project will also be an important step in the transformation of the University Clinical Center Nis complex into a modern medical campus.

The plan is to arrange the area in front of the main entrance to the clinic, with a pedestrian plaza and green areas.

The project also includes advanced solutions in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability, with the use of modern thermal engineering systems, heat pumps, renewable energy sources and a high-performance building envelope.

In addition to lower energy consumption, the building will be more resilient to future climate challenges.
