"The consequence of the poor financial situation, as well as catastrophic management, is also the fact that two major GSP tenders failed this week alone," Jovanovic said in a statement.
According to him, the first concerned the procurement of 60 trolleybuses, for which no bids were submitted because the City failed to provide a guarantee and no leasing company "wants to work with GSP alone," while the second concerned 85 short trams. That procedure was completed, but the contract was not signed because "neither GSP nor the City has the funds to pay the agreed advance."
Jovanovic considers GSP "Beograd" General Director Zoran Sarac, who he says has unlawfully remained in an acting capacity for almost four years, as well as Executive Director for the Electrical Subsystem Goran Manojlovic, to be primarily responsible for the situation.
"The fact that these two directors are trusted associates of Mayor Aleksandar Sapic cannot absolve them of objective and subjective responsibility for the deterioration of GSP, but can only be an aggravating circumstance in any future assessment of the current developments," the CLS director said.
