The Regional Agency for Eastern Serbia Development (RARIS) has announced that during the last week of July, from July 27 to 31, it will organize an "Open Door Week" for members of the diaspora interested in business networking, investment, development or starting a business in eastern Serbia, specifically in the Bor and Zajecar districts.

It was highlighted that during the "Open Door Week", participants will be able to obtain free information on how to register a business in Serbia, what business subsidies and incentives are available and how to access them, what investment opportunities exist in eastern Serbia, what free training programs and other forms of non-financial business support are available, as well as any other information relevant to starting or expanding a business in the region.

Eastern Serbia has around 200,000 residents, with almost one in five living in the diaspora, most of them originating from Negotin, Kladovo, Boljevac, Zajecar and Bor, the statement said.

According to the announcement, some of them have recognized the advantages of doing business in eastern Serbia, and there are dozens of examples of successful businesses operating in various sectors across the region.

It was noted that, according to data from the National Bank of Serbia, the diaspora brought around EUR 4.7 billion into the country in 2025, more than twice the amount of all foreign direct investment in Serbia that year.

Business information during the "Open Door Week" can be obtained in person at the RARIS premises in Zajecar by scheduling an appointment by phone or email, or by calling the organization between July 27 and 31 (9 a.m.-3 p.m.).

More information is available on the Diaspora Business Info platform operated by RARIS.

RARIS was founded by the local governments of Bor, Zajecar, Boljevac, Kladovo, Knjazevac, Majdanpek, Sokobanja and Negotin, the Zajecar Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Zajecar Road Company, the NGO Timocki Klub and the Faculty of Management in Zajecar.
